Central European Gas Hub AG (CEGH) develops REMIT platform for the gas market in Central Europe
The Central European Gas Hub AG (CEGH) develops a web-based REMIT platform for the regional market in Central and Eastern Europe that will be finished in summer 2012.
On this platform market participants will have the opportunity to fulfill their legal obligation to publish price relevant insider information. Pursuant to the European Regulation on wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) these data have to be published since the end of 2011. The platform is meant to support gas trade, but also power trade, and to prevent drawbacks which might be brought about by the REMIT publishing obligations.
E-control supports the idea of such a central platform, as for the benefit of the market participants it provides for a higher transparency than the local publication of information on the individual websites of the companies.
To analyze the market requirements CEGH and e-control Austria will conduct a survey in form of a workshop before summer 2012. EFET will be invited to take part in this survey.
On the basis of its General Terms and Conditions, using the platform will be free of charge until further notice.
All CEGH members (141 for the time being, both OTC Gas Market and Gas Exchange) can use the platform immediately after its launch without further registration and can publish REMIT insider information. New customers respectively TSOs and SSOs can publish after their registration as CEGH members has be completed. Non-registered customers have a read-only access, allowing them to gather information.
CEGH thus offers an easy and instantly available instrument to fulfill the REMIT obligation.
